morning commute. northbound/southbound, no problem. 13 minutes at the most northbound from 295 to 495. more updates on that west philadelphia accident when i come back in the next ten. vai? we're following a developing story out of west philadelphia's kensington section. one man is beaten and robbed in his own home. police say someone he knew was involved. drew smith live for us outside northeast detectives this morning. drew, what can you tell us? >> vai, we're told that two men and a woman ran away from this home this morning, all in different directions. we're told they got away with quite a bit of cash and electronics. police were collecting evidence at the home on the 19800 block of east cambria street. we captured video of the man who lives there walking out to get in an distance. investigators tell us he took a beating from i abaseball bat at gunpoint. the man was inside with a woman he thought was friendly but then two men entered and began robbing him and then she later

joined in. >> there was definitely a violent struggle, furniture is overturned. there are other items of furniture that are broken. there's blood inside of the property. >> reporter: police are getting and interview with the victim. he was taken to temple hospital where he's being treated for some of the injuries he received in that beating. they say he does know the woman who he was friendly with before she turned against hum. they're working on getting an i.d. for her. i hope that leads to the other accomplices in this case. reporting live, drew smith, nbc 10 news. now from our south jersey bureau, this morning, we have video that appears to show burlington city police arresting a 60-year-old man and breaking his arm in the process. that man is suing the department. here's the video.ç >> get on the ground. >> steven conn suffered a broken elbow during this arrest in a

wawa parking lot in 2014. he says officers used excessive force and that he did not resist arrest. on the right-hand side of the screen you can see an officer detaining conn's passenger this all happened after that woman had an argument with the wawa worker. conn was waiting in the car. his attorney believes his officer saw him try to hide the end of a marijuana joint. >> it's an old man with an officer kneeling on his back who takes his arm back in an unnatural angle purposefully and there's only one thing that arm can do and that's break. >> the prosecutoprosecutor's of investigating the allegations. we did reach out to the police department. we're waiting to are a response. crews put out a fire in a travel camper parked at a restaurant. the flames broke out around 11:15 outside a cracker barrel on east lancaster avenue no no one was hurt. a small earthquake shook a

north philadelphia community last night prompting a rash of calls to 911. the magnitude 1.6 earthquake was confirmed, hitting the town of butler, horace county -- morris county. okafor settled his speeding case. he drove 108 miles an hour across the ben franklin bridge last october. that's more than twice the bridge's posted speed limit of 45 miles per hour. okafor pleaded guilty to a charge of unsafe operation of a motor vehicle and he'll pay a fine of more than $430. okafor is on track to make around $4 million this year. now to decision 2016. the democratic presidential candidates will square off in the nevada caucuses tomorrow. last night they spoke to voters in a town hall meeting on msnbc. hillary clinton and bernie sanders appeared separately in las vegas. they each spent an hour taking questions, both criticized donald trump while pushing their own immigration platforms.

both tried to appeal to latino voters who make up about 17% of nevada's voting population. >> should unite families, not divide families. we should not be sending people back to a country that they can barely remember and a language they may not even be able to speak. you know, i was the first person to call out donald trump. i said, enough of this prejudice and pair knowia. >> both candidates hope to use a win in tomorrow's nevada caucuses as say springboard to the south carolina democratic primary on february 27th andç e super tuesday races on march 1st. rivals ted cruz and marco rubio are taking aim at each other ahead of tomorrow's republican presidential primary in south carolina. rubio alleged the cruz campaign doctored this photo of him shaking hands with president obama. with cruz claiming rubio supported amnesty for undocumented immigrants. the cruz campaign fired back saying they're pointing out rubio's shifting stance on immigration.

meantime, rubio won the endorsement of south carolina governor nikki haley, despite calls from the bush family for her to support jeb. >> let me tell you, jeb is a dear friend. this is about fight. this is about passion. >> jeb bush spent the day trying to convince voter that his fight is not over. bush is polling in fourth place in south carolina and in sixth place in the latest national poll. it's 5:06. 24 degrees outside. from our trenton bureau, new jersey governor chris christie is calling on a federal agency to make it easier for victims of last month's winter storm to borrow money they need for repairs. the governor is asking the small business administration to make a disaster declaration for people who live in ocean, atlantic, cape may and cumberland counties. that declaration would free up low interest loans. home owners could borrow up to $40,000 and businesses could borrow up to 2 million. the tech industry is starting to line up with apple in its fight against the federal

black silk, from folgers. ♪ this weekend, the mummers take to the streets of manayunk for the mummers day parade. congressman bob brady announced an $8,000 nonprofit donation to help tomorrow's parade go forward. matt delucia is live in manayunk this morning. you're concerned about the mummers this time around? >> reporter: well, çvai, not among some business owners. only the string bands will be taking part in this parade tomorrow. ♪ manayunk started this mardi gras parade last year and brought it back because it brought in a lot more business last time. this is video from that event.

this is going to be a mile long parade, starting tomorrow morning at 11:00. goes in sherrs lane to green lane. this really all comes down to continuing the philadelphia mummers tradition, the big difference that we'll see between this and new years day, manayunk wanted this to be more family friendly, more interaction with the mummers and there will be zero tolerance for drinking in public. some business owners tell me, out here on main street, this is really something they're starting to look forward to. >> it brought people from all over the u.s. i mean, people were walking in and it was really great just to see that. some people who have never been here before, never been able to make it to the mummers parade. they're coming to manayunk. >> everything gels together a little bit. it's not a college town here. it's a town where families live.

>> and right here, you can see some of the store fronts, all deck out in mummers gear and the mardi gras theme for this parade. right next door is the mummers mardi gras headquarters, a way to keep people here after the parade ends. last year i'm told about 3,000 people showed is up. that was enough, some folks here tell me, to generate a little bit of revenue for this area here. live in manayunk, matt delucia, nbc 10 news. 5:15. lankinow is reaching out to keep the area green. they maintained a fruit and vegetable garden but every year it is damaged by vandals. as a community they're trying to raise awareness and help in finding the resources to rebuild

and put into place reventative measures so it doesn't happen again. a mother and son face charges in what prosecutors call a real estate scam carried out in several south jersey counties. christian edmonds and his mother lisa smith are accused of sellingç or leasing properties they were not permitted to. they believe there could be more. they ask anyone who believes they were victimized to call the camden county prosecutor's office. this among, we have video of the moment a helicopter crashed in pearl harbor. people at the scene jumped into the water to help the tourists on board. take a look. five people were in the helicopter when it went down near the "uss arizona" memorial.

scene as you can see with those flashing lights. lane restrictions in the area on girard avenue and 57th street. again, two vehicles are involved here. there may be some sort of accident investigation under way right now. as you can see, around that intersection, we're still in the green, no real backups there. no ward as to whether or not the roads are closed but traffic still seems to be allowed to move by that point right now. take haverford avenue to get by. if you are traveling out the door in montgomery county, there is some road restrictions in some places. 422 around trooper road, eastbound from 29 to the schuylkill expressway. an eight-minute trip. trooper road not backed up. more updates when i come back. for some people, you pack away your sunscreen when you move into the winter, right? it's just for the summer? hidden among the beach towels and the swim goggles.

14 now in millville. down to 19 in wrightstown, pottstown in the middle teens right now. look at the teens for swarthmore, wallingford, 18 degrees currently. currently st. davids, 19 degrees. satellite shows we are in the clear to start with. these are the clouds that will be moving in. they're being pushed into our area by warmer air. strangely enough, creating some snow showers in northwestern pennsylvania. we will not see the snow. we will get the warm. that will happen this weekend. the clouds are moving in and will still be with us into the 7:00 hour this evening. look at the break in the clouds. that's what we'll see overnight tonight. the clouds move out, sunshine and 60 degrees saturday afternoon. that's 1:00 in the afternoon, maybe a few high clouds in maryland. they'll steer clear of us. on sunday, a different story. we'll be watching for the west again. at 11:00 in the morning, showers
